Assassin's Creed is a video game of action-adventure in third-person developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft . It was released worldwide in November 2007 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 , [ 2 ] and April 2008 for Windows . There was also a cellphone / mobile phone conversion that was released in 2007 [ 8 ] and a prequel entitled Assassin's Creed: Altaïr's Chronicles released for Nintendo DS and iPhone in 2008 and 2009, respectively. The story unfolds in September 2012, focusing on Desmond Miles , a killer who wanted to lead a normal life. He moved and started a bartender career by making his purchases only in cash so as not to be detected by either the Assassins or the Templars. But Desmond ends up wanting to buy a motorcycle but for that he needs a driver's license, and ends up having to put his digital in a document. And after putting his digital in this document he ends up being tracked, kidnapped and taken to a laboratory of a company called "Abstergo Industries", which conducts research on genetic memory. Through sessions with Desmond, the player learns that he is a descendant of Altaïr Ibn La-Ahad ("Son of None"), a member of the "Order of the Assassins" Of 1191 and who was on a mission to obtain a "Piece of Eden", an artifact capable of creating illusions , of the Templars . Throughout history, it has been revealed that the administration of the laboratory is a modern version of the Templars, and that they were aware of the ancestry of Miles. When their real goal is revealed, the player becomes aware that they are trying to locate a Piece of Eden, which they believed to be hidden in Miles' memories.
Overall, Assassin's Creed was a commercial success, reaching the approximate number of eight million copies sold until 16 of April of 2009 . [ 11 ] He received an average rating of 81% appreciation from aggregator sites Game Rankings and Metacritic . [ 12 ] [ 13 ]
